Wiki work
-
Spent some hours in the last days fixing various stuff on the Fedora wiki.
What we’ve been up to? Well, some weeks ago we upgraded the wiki to version 1.5.7, with support for Docbook export and reStructuredText. We’ve introduced some CSS-foo which render the text more readable and the wiki more usable (bigger text, better separation of headings) etc. Hope you like ‘em. :-)
Of course, as expected, these actions introduced bugs, and some of them are still visible. Ahh, the joy of upgrading… Most of them are now fixed, with the lists’ one (strange indenting, mixed lists didn’t work) just a while ago. Drop a note if you see something strange. (Tchung, sorry it took us so long!)
Also, recently we introduced the following two major changes on the wiki:
- Parent-page navigation (Page » Sub » SubSub) is now provided by moin on top of pages and doesn’t need manual crafting.
[[TableOfContents]]
now includes its own bounding box and heading.
These two changes mean many pages might need editing. So, here are two respective requests:
- Most probably your project’s pages have a hard-coded navigation string on top of them; you would want to get rid of that now.
- If they still have a TOC header (say,
==Contents==
) before the actual[[TableOfContent]]
command, get rid of that too.
Please do the same for any similar page you stumble upon. If we catch you not doing it, you’ll have to answer to the Board.
Finally, two more minor things we did:
- Replaced the Wiki Smilies with the fancy ones from Echo iconset. Yay!
- Made the Fedora logo on the wiki a link back home.
That’s it for now. Stay tuned.
PS: Self-introductions and related stuff will have to wait for another time.
Update 13/3: I should note that any changes having to do with appearence take place on the ‘kindofblue’ theme.
Cool! At the moment, though, it looks like each Page/Sub/SubSub is on a newline (ie. Page\nSub\nSubSub).
Luke,
the way the navigation list is viewed is controlled by the theme you are using. I’ve mostly worked on ‘kindofblue’.
I’m using the kindofblue theme as well. Here is what I’m seeing:

Maybe the old CSS got cached? Try shift-refreshing your browser.
Ah, my browser seemed to be caching the old CSS. Everything looks great now.
