LinuxTag baby!
-
It’s been 3 days now of constant running, and I’m soooo glad I managed to get a good rest last night. No feet dragging today, yay! With super-charged batteries I hit the coffee shop next to the place I crash, grab a couple of croissants and head towards the venue. The last days we’ve had a [...]

Turning Transifex to a True Upstream Project
-
From time to time we’ve discussed Transifex with people from various other projects that showed interest to use it to solve their localization platform challenges (lots of users, lots of hosting platforms). Among these were people from Debian, GNOME, OpenSUSE, Gentoo and Wikipedia. A common point in the discussions was whether (or better, when) we [...]

Summer ‘08 and Transifex
-
I came to the conclusion that this summer (too) is bound to be an exciting one. Google Summer of Code has announced the successful student applications, and I’m thrilled to say we’ll have no less than three students hacking on Transifex. Here they are. Christos Trochalakis is a Python hacker, git addict, and Django contributor. He’ll be [...]

Transifex uptake in Fedora
-
Counting submissions through Transifex in the past month… >>> import datetime >>> aMonthAgo = datetime.datetime.now() - datetime.timedelta(days=31) >>> ActionLog.select(AND( ActionLog.q.type=="submit", ActionLog.q.timestamp > aMonthAgo)).count() 1281
That’s 1200+ commits in one month through Transifex, averaging 41 commits per day. glezos pleased.

Transifex + Pootle = Love (sooner than later!)
-
Are you a geek student who’d like to have some thousands of open source contributors and a few millions of users thank you for making their lives a bit more beautiful? This summer you have the chance to do it by making Transifex and Pootle work together and giving the chance to translators to use [...]

Transifex Google Summer of Code ideas
-
Better late than never, I’ve put together some ideas for Google Summer of Code projects on L10n engineering and Transifex. If you’re interested in any of them, please contact me directly for more information. I’d be happy to listen to your ideas as well! Get those applications in by March 31st! (potentially useful: Tx’07 application)

A loving Tx update
-
Yesterday was a great day. After a lot of rock climbing (man, it’s been a while since I felt the wrath of those 6c steep routes and the cold sweat running on your spine when you’re way above your last piece of protection!)… I returned home for some coding. I managed to keep my eyes open [...]

Transifex a Fedora 8 feature
-

Transifex and SSH keys
-
Returned from GUADEC, back to the development of transifex. I’m at a point where most of the basic functionality works (if not all) for locally-hosted repositories. The init.py script creates 4 dummy “remote” repositories (cvs, svn, hg, git) in /var/tmp/, and checkout/clones them “locally”, and you can commit/push to them through transifex. Transifex should be able to [...]
